The Jefferson Transplant Institute is the hub of Jefferson’s transplant expertise; its mission is to make all transplants a success and positively life changing. It has proven success in heart, kidney, liver, and pancreas transplantation.

Housing: Patients and families often need housing to be in close proximity to their doctors for extended periods of time. Your support takes the burden off the patient and family to help them prepare for this major change in their lives.

Access: Creating new ways to screen donors and monitor progress in the community where the patients live allows for a greater quality of life and lowers the costs of care for the family. The goal is always to help the patient get on with a “normal” life.

Improving Outcomes and Increasing Availability of Organs: The team is always looking at ways to reduce rejection rates and increase ways in which more organs can be used. For instance, there are now ways to accept kidneys from people who had Hep-C because the liver can now be treated before it is transplanted.
